Synchronicity is a common occurrence between 2 beings; whether they be human, dog, horse, etc. What happens with horse & human hearts? What makes horse hearts so special and where do we feel intuition? All of this is explored in today’s podcast!
Here are some research study links I mentioned in the podcast:

I love this. I love the science behind this. I am currently day dreaming about horses and being with them and allowing myslef to be in a open state, that I can feel more well being from a horse, and feel that connection. Beautifully put. I look forward to more pod casts – thank you.
yessssss, Alissa! Glad you enjoyed it:)
I always knew I felt good being around my horses the majority of the time – if I have even just minutes of free time; that’s where I want to be. When I was in a period of stress, maybe trying to figure out how to fix an area of communication I was failing in with my horses, it bothered them; they even looked away at times. They couldn’t help me no matter how much I wanted them to, period. Now, that makes sense. I even wonder if it bothers them when our heart rate is irregular from us not being in a state of well-being.
Here is an example from this past weekend’s clinic with you – which was the first time I’d ever participated in a clinic in my life. I was nervous, very nervous when I first walked in with my horse in a halter and lead rope. I had watched you all weekend and talked with you, but I was nervous and that was blocking me from feeling. He was in my space and upset (and so was I) and it wasn’t his fault (Pat Parelli teaches you that if they come into your space and want to be close to you, that is the ultimate complement – so that’s what we’d gone for in the past). He was drawing nothing positive from being near me and I was uncomfortable and not allowing his heart to influence mine; we were reacting to the situation. My brain was also trying to focus on your words and not allowing any “feeling.”
However, once I got on his back, my state of well-being was very high, within about five seconds. The people watching became my friends and support, rather than a crowd of discerning eyes, I wasn’t nervous at all, and I felt at peace. My heart was close to his heart and that electromagnetic field took over and corrected my state of imbalance. I now also realize that that feeling is why I never want to end a ride; I could stay on forever.
This also explains why I feel so much closer emotionally to my horse when I ride bareback and a sense of calmness comes over me; this has always been my favorite way to ride. Maybe this is why I prefer a treeless saddle as well; I always want to be as close to my horse as I can and really be able to feel him. I also have an issue with bits; not just for the horse’s comfort/discomfort, but I’ve always felt that piece of metal blocked my connection or closeness to my horse.
Something else I learned from this, is that I’ve always heard not to take your problems to the barn because they upset your horse. If you are having a bad day or are sad or frustrated (in a state of emotional un-wellness), don’t subject your horse to those negative feelings because it will bring them down to your state. So, out of respect for my horses, I’ve done that when possible. I’m very happy to know that that is not the case.
Glad you enjoyed listening, Holly:) Yes, isn’t it nice to know your horse isn’t holding it against you if you are in a distressed state? If you are having a bad day and you are unable or unwilling to exercise enough self control to not take it out on your horse then the barn isn’t the best place for you. However, if you can make the decision to exercise self control and allow yourself the time to let the horse influence you, then all is well!
